Claire looking savage.
Intersting discussion on Sean Moncrieff there @glenshane discussing efforts to contain the spread of the Asian Hornet on Jersey island. A big threat to bees and other pollinators
Only a matter of time Iām afraid
Happened upon a few minutes of her on the radio yesterday morning. She was giving updates on the storm. I havenāt heard her as energised or animated since covid.
Seems she needs a crisis/misery to get the juices flowing.
Claire on the move to Newstalk
The hornetās nest was located in Cork
announced?
Claire Byrne is āreturning homeā.
McCullough is a very good fit for the Today programme. Has gravitas.
He has a great face for television too however. Heās a handsome divil but in a sort of current affairs version of Richard Ashcroft way. Heās weather beaten in the way you want to be weather beaten and has this beautifully world weary and slightly cynical look that he does which says to an interviewee āyouāre talking shit and I know youāre talking shit and you know that I know youāre talking shitā. That is perfect for a telly journalist.
Pat Kenny couldnāt go on forever.
The āGood Clean Fun with Pat Kennyā segment was one of the best things Second Captains ever did.
Edit: McCullAGH (Catholic spelling).
will free him up to pursue badger baiting on the hilside of Dalkey
Will she get the 8 weeks a year* holidays again with Newstalk?
*a summer
In another life Pat would have been very well suited to the Meath Hunt.
Pat has been added to the Burke backroom team. A wealth of experience litigating.
Will Claire Byrneās shed become an official Newstalk studio? Could see it suiting the Off The Ball lads.
Whichever stylist had the idea to transform Claire Byrneās hair from this:
To thisā¦
ā¦is a genius.
She was instantly turned from homely mammy into unattainable power dressed ice maiden.
She could lease it out to John Kenny should the need arise
Is the shed RTE property? Will she have to hand it back along with her laptop, phone and pen?
She always struck me as a bit dolly dimple and just toed the RTE editorial line and not being able to dig deeper past her first 3/4 prepared questions. Be interesting to see how she goes in Macaroni House
Risteard Cooper took McCullagh off well,
āHi, Iām David McCullagh and I donāt careā
Iāve heard a bit of her radio show since WFH and I think itās quite good actually.
John already has an insulated freight container with some nice shelves.
Sheāll be the biggest star on Newstalk anyway. I wonder will TV3 start using her for TV again. Pity she wonāt be back in time for the TV debates for all Iād be a Colette man.
