Any word on how the Assembly Elections are going? I heard Bob McCartney might lose his seat to the Green Party but I haven’t heard anything else about the general state of play.
Better turnout than anticipated. Very close to last election. Sinn Fein seem to be doing very well. Alliance doing well particlarly in South Belfast where their deputy leader increased their vote by 10%. So far 2 Dup’s and 1 SF elected.Very early days yet.
Again, Sinn Fein and the DUP are the big winners with the UUP and the SDLP continuing to be sidelined.
Still, I see quotes from Paisley this morning saying they won’t go into government with ‘Sinn Fein as we know it’.
It’s nearly 9 years since the GFA and they’re continuously blocking a devolved governent. Policing was their latest attempt to put a halt to things and now that SF have delivered on that they’ll be spending the next 3 weeks trying to come up with some other spurious reasons to delay powersharing. Pure bigotry imo.
If ever there was a time for the Dublin and London governments to grow some balls now is it.
