You probably just saw a regular old meteor instead of a meteorite.
You could be correct. Must have been something off this, although it was well before it got dark.

There was one time - must have been early 00s or even late 90s - when it very strong even as far south as Limerick. We’re far too southerly here to get the shimmering “curtains” you see in documentaries and so on, but by God it was still absolutely stunning.

Crazy moon halo tonight
The moon lander seems to have disappeared. The lads in NASA here may as well be looking into a ditch.
