ATTN: Irish People

I donā€™t think you will get anything bar a minibus that would carry more than 7 people

Car rental is a fucking rip off in Ireland

The car hire business is now gone the same route as cheap airlines. Once upon a time youā€™d pay a months salary for a week.
A lot of dealerships even offer car hire now.

100 quid a week in July looks to be far from a rip off. I often paid a multiple of that for a few days in the uk

Not nearly as bad as it used to be.

Is that fully insured? Thereā€™s a lot of extras that isnā€™t included on the online quote from my experience. Iā€™ve rented plenty cars in Ireland during ā€˜off peakā€™ months and I certainly paid a lot more than 100 for the week

I rent cars a few times a year and it isnā€™t too bad in Ireland at all. Probably the same cost as the US though theyā€™ll more often than not bump you up to a ridiculous pick up truck or 7 seater as theyā€™re more plentiful.

Not then

Thry could give you a Zafira but then thereā€™s no boot space

7 and 8 seaters are ridiculously expensive to hire all over Europe.

I paid about 1800 in Spain a couple of years ago.

we looked into renting a 7 seater in Portugal and it was mental money altogether,
Incidentaly weā€™re taking a six berth camper van for a week this summer and thatā€™s costing under 200e a day which seems OK.
