Is it not common knowledge that sharks are out at dawn and dusk mainly?
yeah they would have only barely got in ahead of sunrise, if calls were made at 6.30, probably looking at 5.30/6 am sunrise or thereabouts. Not everyone would have a first thought about sharks at that time though in fairness.
I did a night dive on the great barrier reef about 20 years ago and we saw a shark on it. Not the time to spot sharks alright.
When I was there, I was afraid to dip my toe in the bloody water!

Must check it out. One of my cousins in Aus (an Aussie) got done for driving to the shop langersed. So far out in suburbia, it was like a tree falling in the woods. That video is fucked up though. Killed four. Seemed like a normal enough bloke who went off the rails and killed four kids.
42 degrees here today, not pleasant. Smoke from fires a couple of hours away over the last few days, but today we got our own. 12 houses lost about 15kms from us on the Central Coast, helicopters overhead all day battling it.
Could he a nasty summer in store.
