Ya, been there twice for a week. Really grew on me. Very much like a sunnier Seattle. People are bang on there and have a very positive outlook. It is somewhere i would strongly consider living alright. Heading up the coast and to Darwin soon though. Staying in rural Queensland right now for a couple of weeks. Cheap, but jesus its hickville. Astonishing level of crime in small rural towns iāve noticed, the Australia they donāt tell you about you could say.
Was in Brisbane for State of Origin, jesus the place goes mad. Good game too the first one. Had seen this guy Thornston with the Cowboys a week or two previously, he must be one of the most gifted sportsmen in the world. I really think he could play anything.
Have got to like League, its played at some pace, the fans are a bit annoying though.

i only rally saw the towns up the coast like bundy & rockhampton but jesus you get some right hicks there alright -never ben to darwin- would say its mental there
Fastest growing city in Oz i believe. Buckets of work up there as well, although its heavily construction/Mining based i believe. Its got a tropical climate which is attractive too, and work stops if it goes over 35 degrees, how bad. Its the amazing places you can visit from a Darwin base that seem really attractive.
Probably going to buy or rent a camper van and head up, should take a month, at least. Although have a ticket to Bali from Darwin in August, so must make sure and make that. Having said that it was so cheap (60 euros) if i missed it i wouldnāt be that put out.
