Not aviation, but I arrived into Dublin Port today with all my i’s dotted and my t’s crossed - my phone jammed with downloaded vaccination certs, locator forms and photos of antigen test results - and the Garda barely even asked for passports.
In fairness, the fella ahead of us in the queue had (under extremely light questioning imo) just switched his nationality from Spanish to Bolivian, so I suspect the guard was a tad distracted. Stena, despite the many IMPORTANT text updates over the previous days, were similarly disinterested. NPHET have royally mugged me off.
Des appears to think that there won’t be a queue if he arrives early enough for his flight. I think he has misunderstood the reason for arriving at the airport early.
His complaint may be legitimate but his reasoning is wrong. He suggests that the queue was long even though he arrived in good time for his flight. I don’t know if he expected a shorter queue for arriving early but he should be arriving early in case there’s a queue, not to avoid one.
