Agree with all of this. Thunderstruck is a smashing tune and I have never seen this ridiculous phenomenon which sounds like something off the Clare Roasters thread.
I’d say it’s happened at almost every wedding I’ve been at in Ireland. That its a bogger phenomenon is undoubted.
