Back at work thread

Fuck this shit.

My ā€˜Days of Lifeā€™ app tells me I only have 17,000 odd days of life left so thatā€™s something I suppose.

Without going into specifics she emailed me at 9am (ccā€™ing people) complaining about a piece of work Iā€™d done before Christmas.
Unfortunately for her the errors were all her fault and I just emailed her back the original document she had sent containing the errors and told her to amend it.

Ah man I could write a book about it.

Our place has an organisational structure that would take about 10 hours to explain. Its a small office and essentially your power or lack there of ebbs and rises with your ability to keep the main man and his second in command onside.
The main man is a master manipulator and showers people with praise and lunches etc. if he needs you before coldly discarding you when your purpose is served.
A favoured tactic of his is to just stop talking to people once he is finished with them. Then they either go out of their way to curry his favour or are left in the wilderness until they leave themselves. Occasionally he will pluck someone from the wilderness when he has a need for them and they are so grateful to back on his side thatā€™ll theyā€™ll do anything he wants.
He rarely fires anyone but rather forces them out by setting impossible targets and piling the pressure on.
Itā€™s actually like mental torture and itā€™s horrendous behavior. Iā€™ve seen a few lads full on crack under the pressure in my time here.

I must say its great craic though trying to figure out whats happening next. Watching them rise and fall.
His number one arse licker has fallen out of his favour of late and itā€™s a joy to behold.

Iā€™m fortunate enough in that Iā€™ve never played the game and they need me. I also couldnā€™t give a fuck if they got rid of me (I would only relish the prospect).
He tried to have a go at me once and failed miserably. Heā€™ll come for me again at some stage Iā€™m sure, in fact I hope he does soon :D.

Up to the last two lines, that sounded like the most horrible existence known to man.

It can be if you take it too seriously.Thereā€™s about three people in here who have figured it out. Another few who are low level and happy to be, and about 5 who are scurrying up and down the ladder like mugs.

Sounds like Game of Thrones.

Jesus itā€™s hard to get going today.

You must have a good few days left this year.

Iā€™m having a casual day with little work. Doing bits that need doing. Think i may have seen @theselfishgiant on a dublin bike on merrion sq just now.

Are Dublin Bikes fixies?
This is a mugs game.

I have no choice but to get on with it for the short term but there are easier ways to make a living than working for the US corporates of this world.

Modern day man is filled with fear and these corporates thrive on this weakness. I see it al l around me here and it disgusts me.

2014 is the year of the plan.

2015 is the year of the change.
@Kinvaraā€™s Passion howā€™s this going?

Was tripping balls earlier from a Nytol I took last night. Computer screen was moving all over the place and it felt like I was wearing ear muffs. A lot of people were back on Friday so were dropping over to me to chat about Xmas etc but I felt like I had locked in syndrome and could only mumble words back. Took a 2 hour lunch to clear the head. I think Iā€™ve pulled through the worst of it now.

Depending on if they are working properly or not, yes.

I hate this shit. Last night was the most depressing Iā€™ve ever endured.

Look on the bright side it will only get better from here.

great to be back home in England working , could not get out of mickland fast enough, jesus the place is in an awful state, the pubs are fucked and no cunt has money, Fine Gael have ran the place into the ground the bastards

Or Eamonn Cregan.

I worked from home today. Bank holiday tomorrow. Joke. Sick of being off. Have a few calls though.

Change takes time mate. Especially when kids are in the picture. All that saidā€¦ things are moving as planned so far.
