A third such incident involving a Dublin player it seems after todays Leinster Football Final against Meath. I think its safe to say there’s a serious problem with biting in Dublin GGA. What is to be done about it? Is it just an issue with Dublin Football or is it rife in Dublin Hurling also?
Incident 1: Donegal’s Paddy McBrearty the wounded party - Kevin O Brien escaped suspension. McBrearty was hospitalised as a result of the wound.
Incident 2: Unnamed DCU player the wounded party, Jason Whelan suspended for 8 weeks as a result of the offence.
Incident 3: As yet an unnamed Meath player*, as alleged by Meath Manager Mick O’Dowd. More to follow.
Feel free to use this thread to speculate on who the Dublin player involved in this latest incident is.

I would have said knacker, the man looks like he’s come right from the halting site in a hiace. It’d be a brave man that’d bite him, god knows what you could pick up.

Hardly in the hurling when they’re muzzled.
They wear gumshields in Gaelic Football, but this doesn’t seem to be stopping the Dublin Footballers. Anything is possible Piles.
Investigation likely after claims that Meath player was bitten
O’Dowd complimented Dublin on their success when he addressed the media after the game and said that it was up to all other teams to reach the standard of performance.
The Meath manager then returned to the press centre shortly afterwards when it emerged that it was claimed that Burke had been the victim of a bite.
“Just after going back to the dressing room after speaking to you (the media) and I see the doctor dealing with his finger and he has gone to the Dublin dressing room to talk to the Dublin doctor which is the protocol to deal with in terms of a bite in terms of blood being transferred from one person to the other.”
O dowd was the fella who only last week was saying there’s no complaining after dubs v Meath games!! He’s right to complain though as it clearly cost them the game…
