Bledisloe Cup/The Rugby Championship

Was at a Hurricanes vs Chiefs game there a few years back, it’s a decent single-tier stadium close to the city centre. Lovely bowl design. Small enough capacity, around 35k.

Would it be fair to say that rugby union is well down the scale of sporting popularity in Australia?

I’d say cricket, league, football, ,afl, tennis and netball are more popular

The cake tin has been well documented on tfk

You hardly got to an international game when you were there? Got to NZ vs Aus in Eden Park and was different gravy crowd-wise and atmosphere. Eden Park is a smashing stadium.

I hardly did.

I got to an NRL game, Warriors v Canterbury bankstown

I was a bit underwhelmed by Eden park, thought it would be more impressive

A tad piecemeal, but I like that. Gives the place character.

Argentina looked very tired. A better team would have disposed of them easier. Australia are a long way off genuine RWC contender.

The Qantas Wallabies hosting New Zealand in Perth this morning in the first Bledisloe Cup test. Proceedings getting under way shortly.

Thanks Geoff. I’d forgotten completely about it.
Women going into town shortly. I’ll throw a roast into the oven. A few beers later. There’s a great day of sport ahead

Aussies starting well. Big loopy pass. NZ lad went for the interception and missed and the Aussie had a clear run in from half way for the try.

Read interfered with the Aussie defender there surely?

Don’t think there was enough in it. Looked like last pass was forward for second try.

We will see what the Aussie are made of now. Are they man enough to put foot on throath

Delighted to see Leiliafano going so well

Scott Barrett sent off. Think a yellow would have been sufficient.

All Blacks wouldnt have kicked 3 in those circumstances

Shoulder to head/neck :man_shrugging: dont think he can have many complaints the way the game is reffed now

Unlucky if nothing else

Looked harsh enough on second viewing.
