Bledisloe Cup/The Rugby Championship

What would the score be if they werent in such disarray

How much did the AB’s lose by? That’s put a severe dent in their world cup ambitions.

New Zealand were never going to lose this one at a wet Eden Park. That’s 41 wins and 2 draws from 43 since they last lost a test match there to France in 1994.

They’ll still be a tough nut to crack but they are beatable now. They’ve held on to too many veterans for too long. Owens Franks, Sam Whitelock and Kieran Reed were all starters in their World Cup winning side 8 years ago in 2011. Brodie Retallick the cornerstone of their pack done his shoulder a month ago and is a serious injury doubt for the World Cup.

Not sure, @anon32894817 was keeping score.

The lads in work were remarking that New Zealand missed a load of conversions on Saturday. Lack of a goal kicker could cost them dearly yet, as @anon32894817 mentioned a while back.

They had no channce when Ireland finished them off in 2018.

TBF Ireland didn’t kick too many goals on Saturday either, you’ll do nothing without a goalkicker.

Is there any chance of Japan being let into the Championship?

Not in the immediate future anyways I would have thought. They were in the Pacific Nations Cup this year but I don’t know if that’s permanent.

The Rugby Championship is already very stretched geographically with games on at all hours cause of time-zones. Super Rugby was similar, the Australasian Conference at least was just NZ & Aus, but the SA Group could have games going on in Argentina, South Africa and Japan on the same weekend. It’s a bit of a mad setup.

Im glad @anon32894817 wasn’t alive to see Richie Mounga fulfill his promise.

They should let them into the 6 Nations just to drive Georgia demented

Georgia are the closest European rubby nation to Japan.

SA actually wanted to join the six nations, which made far more sense time and geography wise, and is far more lucrative. NZ spat the dummy out and blocked it.

Ah it doesn’t really though because their traditional rivalries are with NZ and to a lesser extent Australia and because international rugby needs to consist of two opposing power blocs which are the Six Nations and the Southern Hemisphere teams

It would make sense in rugby terms, if not in carbon footprint terms, to add Japan to the Southern Hemisphere championship along with a Pacific Islands team, with Georgia joining the Six Nations

Argies have some serious bruisers in their pack.

How do you see things going this afternoon at HQ ???

Qantas Wallabies level it up at 6-6.

Their 6 is a great bit of stuff. Physical, niggly, good on the ball.

Love to see the Argies turn them over
