I mean, aren’t we all?
Did ref not gesture “striking” when booking Murphy
If indicating striking should not then automatically be a red card
Would agree with opinions that Lane could not be expected to have seen the incident
Lane is the Johnny Murphy of Gaelic football refereeing
This was some team. Managed by the bould Val Andrews.
A great team, plenty of lads who had fine careers. Incidentally, Jim McGuinness, who was 26 at this stage captained UUJ to Sigerson glory on 2001.
Jim might have been studying molecular science or something a level above woodwork in those years but he gave a fair spell at school…
He did.
I always enjoyed Val Andrews. I remember him telling a story of his time with Cavan back around the early noughties. He invited 50 players to the first session. Had a big meeting with them and extolled the virtues of players doing kicking practice on their own. He presented them all with a new O Neills football each so they could practice on their own. He never saw 15 of the players or their footballs again.
Damien Hendy had some chap head on him back then.
The 1997 Ulster final was delayed by 15 minutes as Cavan lads frantically searched for the €2 coin the referee had tossed……
I’d say there was no U20 when Glen was around.
But I see where you’re coming from.
That Tralee team made a cod of Sigerson , Bought with scholarships .
You’re right, there wasn’t. He won a Leinster U21 in 1992 though.
How fucking old do you think he is
About ?? now if your dates are correct, but he looks older.
Wiki says he’s 53.
So he was young enough winning the U21…
Funnily enough, as they’d say. The Munster Express was a more popular paper around South Kilkenny, than the Leinster Leaser, when I was a whipper snapper.
Who wedgied him i wonder?
