Southampton are investigating an incident involving goalkeeper Artur Boruc during the defeat by Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
The Poland international allegedly threw a water bottle into the crowd during the first half at St Mary’s.

“The club takes such allegations extremely seriously and will deal with the matter in the appropriate manner,” read a Southampton statement.

Tottenham’s 2-1 win left Southampton 19th in the Premier League.

The statement added: “Southampton Football Club can confirm that it is investigating allegations of an incident involving Artur Boruc that occurred towards the end of the first half during Sunday’s match against Tottenham Hotspur.”

Speaking after the game, Saints manager Nigel Adkins said he did not see the incident but vowed to “find out what had happened”.
The incident in the Chapel End of the ground, which is occupied by home fans, occurred after Clint Dempsey put Tottenham 2-0 ahead shortly before half-time.

Former Celtic keeper Boruc, 32, joined Southampton on a free transfer last month after leaving Italian club Fiorentina during the summer.

Before The Holy Goalie got injured this season he had only conceded 8 goals in 13 games, since he went off injured in that game Southampton have conceded 18 goals in 9 games.

Coincidence? I think not.

As much as I think Forster has been a decent keeper for Celtic he will never be at the level of Boruc and he will never match what Boruc did for Celtic.

I agree with that. Boruc is more talented and more willing to leave his line and take chances on crosses.

Southampton struggling defensively without him and Danny Fox in the lineup.
