Boxer Darren Sutherland, Olympic Bronze Medalist, Has Died Apparently

Yeah, have edited it now. Had incorrectly remembered his bout against the English lad, DeGale, as a final rather than a semi-final.

same here…its very sad and really on the increase…people you would have thought had everything to live for…

Very uncomfortable just thinking about it alright.

Very very sad. RIP Darren.

Real shame he won`t get to fulfil his potential. RIP

The thing about Sutherland was he always came across as being so happy and so confident, this is just very sad news.

Look MBB. After that horrendous disrespect was shown by Kev to Owen Hart I vowed that I would never show respect to anyone until that fuck apologised. He refuses to do so.

Fuck’s sake horrible news.

Very talented boxer.

Very exciting style.

Great in interviews and stuff as well. You’d have marked him down as one of the last guys you’d imagine to commit suicide.

Haven’t seen that Saviours film documentary but it’s supposed to be excellent.

Flano, I understand your opinion, and I feel there may be some merit to it. But I just think this isnt the place for it. I’m sure you can respect that.

Yeah was just saying something like that. You never know obviously but he seemed a happy, determined and level-headed guy.

It all seems so similar to a guy i know who passed a few years ago, he was also a pro sportsman, Dan Carter would prob know him too. Terribly terribly sad.

Something of ‘the tears of a clown’ about him perhaps, often a happy-go-lucky persona can mask deep unhappiness inside…

Yeah, was thinking that myself. Seemed a very open, engaging guy in interviews and had real charisma about him. Just generally appeared very outgoing and confident but you can’t ever tell what’s really going on in someone’s head. He was ringside at that Tyson Fury fight on Friday yet gone today - difficult to comprehend really.

This is pretty fucked up. Only 27 too. Shocking altogether.

Very sad stuff indeed
Seemed a very alright sort
I thought he had what it takes to go to the top of the pro game

Shocking news, especially when he had apparently made the transition to the pro game so seamlessly and Egan looked like the one experiencing all the problems. Maybe he dealt with them better.

fukin hell,great prospect,RIP

This was his third pro fight from early this summer. Bags of ability:

christ this is a sad loss for Irish sport

Awful tragedy. He inspired plenty of lads in Dublins Inner City to take up boxing and hopefully some will go on to lives they never would have had the opportunity to without him.

RIP
