Yup

Big one tonight. Marquez slight favourite in betting but unless Bradley’s been seriously damaged by the Provodnikov fight he has every chance.

What time is this on at?

Close to 5am I’d say

Who do you think will win this lads, I fancy Marquez by stoppage 3/1. It should be clos though

Before that crazy shit he did in the Provodnikov fight I would have leant towards a Bradley UD. He’s a tough style match-up for JMM who is very uncomfortable when he has to be the aggressor. If Bradley either doesn’t have the legs to move all night or gets drawn into a fight at close quarters then you couldn’t go against Marquez, but I think Bradley is smart enough to realise that and on that basis the kamikaze stuff from his last fight shouldn’t re-appear.

Tough one to call though. The condition of both men will be a big factor. JMM looked slow against Pacquiao before the knockout and you’d imagine he’d struggle to keep the pressure on a guy as mobile as Bradley. Tim for his part got his brains scrambled last time out and if he’s out on his feet against Marquez then he won’t be seeing the finish line.

Bradley wins on a split decions

From what I remember of it Bradley was very good and eased down in the last two rounds. Marquez nearly knocked him out when he eased off. No way was it a split decision, bradley won by a few rounds. I think Marquez should retire now.

Great win for Bradley. Fight was close I thought but he deserved to get the nod. Lomachenko very impressive in his long awaited debut. Talk from Top Rank of him facing Salido in January. Would be a huge step up for just his second pro fight.

Have it recorded, is it worth watching?

Yeah it was pretty good. Not much in the way of fireworks but entertaining nonetheless.

HBO preview for Alvarado vs Provodnikov this weekend. Should be good.

Adam Nolan beaten by split decision at the world championships in Almaty today.

Provodnikov workout ahead of the Alvarado fight at the weekend. Some pad work with Roach near the end.

His face looks pretty marked up to me. Those cheek bones are a problem.

Has McCloskey retired?

Made his comeback fight not long after what really was a career ending defeat for him to Corley and hasn’t fought in over a year now. What’s going on behind the scenes there, think he parted with Breen. Is it to do with management issues?

Don’t think he’s retired, his career’s just a mess. Bad sign when he isn’t even getting on the Frampton undercards anymore. Maybe he’s gone on the juice and will come back looking like JMM.

Paddy Barnes has progressed to the last 16 of the World Boxing Championships after beating Serbia’s Milos Baltic in Kazakhstan.

The Belfast boxer, fighting at a heavier weight for this tournament, took the contest [29-28 29-28 30-27](‘http://www.thefreekick.com/board/tel:29-28 29-28 30-27’).

Speaking ringside to Olympic silver medallist Kenneth Egan after the bout, Barnes said: “It was the first time without the headgear on and it felt really, really strange. And there was a clash of heads and it felt really, really weird.

"I’m happy to get the three rounds in. Now I know what it’s all about and we’ll push on from here.”

And Barnes, who pushed up from light-flyweight to flyweight said he felt strong at the new weight.

“I might not be the biggest but I’m the strongest,” added Barnes, who also confirmed that there was no real damage from the clash of head. “It’s just a nick, just a graze.”

Ray Molette was beaten in his last-32 bout against Ermek Sakenov from Kyrgystan.

The light welterweight from Mayo lost all three rounds as Sakenov took the contest [30-27 30-27 30-27](‘http://www.thefreekick.com/board/tel:30-27 30-27 30-27’)

Belfast heavyweight Tommy McCarthy fights later on this afternoon against Samir El-Mais from Canada.

Barnes is a fuckin legend

Very enjoyable interview with Carl Frampton and Barry McGuigan by Donald McRae on The Guardian website. I’m terribly fond of Carl Frampton.

Alvarado missed weight at the first attempt yesterday. Came in at 139.8 two hours later. Could be significant if he plans to use the same strategy as he did against Rios.

Incidentally, Alvarado is getting $1.3m for this fight. Surely has to be some step aside money in play there for letting Pac fight Rios? Seems too big a payday otherwise.
