It’s interesting that in the UFC coverage they have no Harold Lederman type keeping score, they just let the action flow. I wanted GGG to win so I’ll go watch it again now with the commentary off. At the time I thought GGG won but it was 4am I was shitfaced. A jab is obviously worth something, I’m just trying to quantify it. The problem is no 2 punches in boxing are ever entirely the same.
Mayweather made a complete fool of Canelo for me, Canelo was like a dying bull that just stands and stares at the matador in front of him. Mayweather’s best performance for me along with the Gatti fight. GGG’s performance can’t be compared to that, did he really ever hold Canelo off? I fully appreciate GGG had the dominant jab but that isn’t the only determining factor for who wins.
Mayweather Ffs, maidana bate him and was robbed de lá hoya too, and castillo definitely beat him. All bought fights. Should be 46-3, and I’m not counting the circus performance as a fight.
Andy Lee had a good talk on news talk the other night about it. He was talking about how a fight should be scored really interesting stuff. He said canelo won for what he done presence punching and grit.
I love watching GGG fighting, he’s like a terrier but I have to say Canelo was more composed in that fight and fought like a warrior, took all golovkins pressure and gave it back with interest. New found respect for Canelo, he’s one tough cookie!!!

I thought the Russian lad was gonna cause a bit of an upset after the first 2 rounds. Was a foregone conclusion after round 4. You can’t fault excellence all the same.
