It was a massive deal. It finished Clough
Brian Clough was seriously shook looking that season they were relegated. Iâd say he was in overdrive on the sauce.
Manyâs a time. He mentions Anthony by name in a book I read
That was some goal gykores first. Hes a beast
Not win?
Nice trip down memory lane that.
Big Sam might not be everyoneâs cup of tea but you canât ignore what he accomplished at Bolton.
Billy McNeill took Villa down after leaving Man City earlier in the season. Man City also went down. Ron Saunders did the same thing the previous season managing Birmingham City and Albion in the same season and both went down.
Reading a few articles about Arsenal âbottlingâ the league has me thinking would Liverpool have gotten over the line in 2020 if it wasnât for Covid /
Behind / closed doors football in 2020.
They were beginning to creek just before lock down.
Yes
We can move on lads, Iâve saved you all a day.
Villa are going to throw away top 5 and Champions League qualification. They may need to win the Europa at this rate.
Villa are Spursâlike at times in their ability to fuck up a good situation. Theyâve only gone and done it again
The simple answer to that, is No. Liverpool had a 26 point lead before lockdown. They only needed 5 points from 27 available from their last 9 games to wrap up the league.
Nothing is simple in sport. I suspect they bottle it with full crowds.
Klopp was never much good under pressure. He walked away for a finish because he couldnât deal with the pressure.
Remember the Meltdown in 2014. Lost to Chelseaâs third team at home and then coughed up a three nil lead v Crystal Palace in the space of a few days.
Liverpool just arenât reliable down the stretch as they say.
Hold the line lads, youâre better than this
As it turned out Liverpool would have won the league without any further points as City didnât reach the 82 points that Liverpool had with 9 games remaining. But for Covid Liverpool wouldâve surpassed the 100 points mark record set by Man City 2 years previous. As it was, they had to settle for 99. Heady times.
A veteran Spurs fan I know was of the opinion at the time that the team which beat Spurs in the 2019 Champions League final was the strongest in Liverpoolâs history. A fair statement considering heâd have seen the teams of the 70âs and 80âs.
Ah ffs
Obsessed
You tried at least.
Iâd like to see Arsenal get over the line with crowds
I dunno. I had no strong feelings about arsenal one way or another. But this crop play some horrendous football.
Theyâll surely win it this year. All the contenders have fallen away.
