The EPL right now would remind you of the management of the financial system in the run up to the 2008 financial crash.
Salaries are obscene, decadence is off the scale, the entire league is rolling in cash yet simultaneously broke. The people in charge lack imagination and foresight and real knowledge, and are almost all sheep like followers. At the same time thereās an overpowering and stifling belief in the power of numbers and mathematical formulas. Media coverage is full of fawning, paid influencers. Thereās massive interference by petro-states and oligarchs and kleptocrats.
On the pitch, the hype and the standard is continuously exposed for what it is by people outside the system.
Thereās absolutely 100pc no way you would be typing all that if Liverpool were playing at anywhere near the standard they should be given the players they have. You OBVIOUSLY wonāt let yourself agree with that but itās true.

Rice & Zubi are ultra cautious with the ball and itās a major negative from an offensive standpoint but they make Arsenal better defensively & the stats back that up.
Odegaard has been a serious loss from a creative pov but he is of no use defensively. Eze runs back more tbf whilst being not as creative.
For all the waffle about Arsenal they have as many goals scored as others scored & the least conceded. Apes can argue to the hilt about standards but the above stats absolutely back Arteta up.

The league was a poor standard last year, is worse this year and has been declining in standard since at least 2022.
Liverpool won it at a canter last year because they maintained somewhere close to the standard of the previous season while the other contenders declined.
Arsenal peaked in 2024 and arenāt even as good now as they were last season and yet theyāre going to end up cantering to the title with a lumpen, constipated brand of football despite continually leaving the door ajar for everybody else.
Itās a league thatās full of piano pushers and has very few if any world class piano players.

You saying the EPL is currently a good standard and a good watch? If long throws, playing for corners and 1970/1980ās rugby free for all in the lineouts at those corners is your thing, it was never better.
Personally I genuinely would prefer to watch say arsenal rucking and mauling their way to wins with every game going to the wire than man city winning 7-0. But I realise Iām in a minority there.
More generally I donāt ever remember the PL being some great standard or a great watch. When united city completely strolled to winning it it was a load of shite too.
The rivalry between united and arsenal and then city and Liverpool were probably itās peak but that was two teams at a time and and short lived.
Similar to gaelic football thereās never been a time when people were saying the premier League is fantastic. And even more so when your own team is shite.

Youāre correct there. City coming back to the pack is a positive in the same way that it was when Dublin did so in the gaelic. Arsenal winning it out for the first time in 22 years and 3 different winners in 3 seasons would be largely encouraging for competitiveness. The top teams arenāt a patch on a few years ago though.
Gaelic football is as close to fantastic right now as it has been in a long time. You genuinely have about 13 teams who could easily reach an All-Ireland semi-final. Like Louth could turn Dublin over and Cork have done the same to Donegal in 2024. Meath beat Kerry by 9 points last year too.
