British Loins Tour to South Africa 2021 - Official Thread

Gary Ringrose would be close to starting for me. He’s an outstanding player.

I don’t get your love for Aki and derision for Stander. Aki is grand, Stander is a better player in general. Stander is an Irish citizen too (perhaps Aki is as well actually, I don’t know). While I dislike the project player system I think that Stander has contributed a lot for Ireland and is generally admirable.

Stander got his 50th cap for Ireland yesterday

Stander is a very good six. Aki is very limited.

The Zebo and Paddy Jackson rap double act would be great for morale on tour.

I dont think either should have played for Ireland. This is about the lions, which is a different discussion. You’re a nawful strawmanner. One of the biggest culprits on the internet in fact.

If you say so. I was just wondering why the different outlook on the two was so different.

On current form none with get near the starting team. End of season club form might give a few a reprieve.

I think because I watched Ali a lot when he first came over and helped transform Connacht rugby under pat lam. At that time he was being touted by Sean Fitzgerald as an all black centre. He was dynamite. Ive never thought stander does much that an Irish lad can’t

I like Aki too and he’s been class for Connacht. A real pity henshaw didn’t stay there alongside him. I don’t think Aki has been brilliant for Ireland though, I think he’s another in a long line of project players that scrape international level or are just below it but somehow get picked ahead of Irish alternatives. I do think stander has been good for Ireland, if not exceptional. He is an good international level player. Both of them have been committed players for their clubs and Ireland and have contributed a lot in fairness.

Burns being selected bugs me more than stander or Aki to be honest.

Is agree with all of that. I think Ireland missed aki at his peak.

Any has one trick and that’s grand at provincial rugby level but he’s not good enough at international level. The step up is massive.

James Lowe is the same. Looks amazing for leinster but gets badly exposed for Ireland.

Very much based on the first two rounds of the 6N. You won’t see that many Jocks

8 Scots, 1 Irish. What year does Sir Ian think it is, 1997?

Ireland are 0 for 2. Did ye miss that?

He’s being kind to the Irish there.

Scotland are a far superior team to Ireland and play a decent brand of rubby.

Has this rubbish bern called off yet?
