Most native Americans were hunter gatherers, a few tribes like the Cherokee had rudimentary agriculture like growing maize (corn to the white man). They had no domestic animals afaik.

A great many grew corn/maize/had stocks⌠It was really only my people on the plains that hunted solely⌠But we originally lived in the forests of Minnesota before moving to the plains and gathered fruits and plants as well as hunted game.

Theyâre a nightmare to deal with Iâd say.
Tis a right pain the odd time the âsqueezeâ doesnât take. A field of happy bullocks, heads down grazing away and one fella in the corner stamping his feet and trying to headbutt a wall.
Weâd one broke into a neighbourâs field of pedigree AA heifers. Heâd a good few hours before he.was spotted and he wasnât keen on leaving. We got him out without anyone seeing and Iâd my oul lad well primed with the story that one of their calves got through to us, was followed by the cow and our lads all got mixed up. Lucky enough ours was an Angus as well, but not the sort youâd want for breeding prize winners.
