Bush Fires in Australia

Ethiopia planted 350 million trees in one day

One billion in 30 years in a country the size of Australia isn’t much of an effort

Lads here would would no doubt have been poo-pooing Labour’s plan to plant 2 billion trees in Britain by 2040

Ok, calm down right wing nutjobs.
The vast, vast, vast majority of fires have been started by lighting strikes. In many cases dry strikes from weather systems generated by the fires themselves from Pyro-cumulonimbus clouds. An extremely small amount have been caused by arson.
This is part of the right wing media narrative scrambling around looking for something to blame other than the actual causes (arson, greenies stopping hazard reduction burns, aliens etc).
Channel 7 (like most media in Australia) would not exactly be noted for it’s political independence. Stick to the ABC.
Try again @the_mixer_walsh it’s almost amusing to see you and your ilk with this stupidity.

A lot of posters need to consider their internet use and ironically, stop reusing and recycling

What sort of carbon footprint are lads spending 7 or 8 hours per day on TFK leaving?

We offset it by not leaving the house

You have the likes of @Little_Lord_Fauntleroy buying papal indulgences and him shipping jump boots from China. Made from class of non degradable polymer no doubt

If if the fire was started by arson, surely the fact that it’s on the brink of crippling a continent means that climate change is at least partly responsible

there are thousands of fires mate

The vast majority were not started by arson. The whole place is a tinder box

were the Black Thursday fires caused by climate change?

Talking to some of my mates in Oz (around Muswellbrook and Newcastle) over the weekend… nightmarish stuff.
The East Coast really getting incinerated… Can’t remember where the Ozzie based posters on here are but lads, it goes without saying, be safe
