Calling Carryharry

Was away all weekend so didn’t hear about this. Will do some research on the matter.

Fucking hell @carryharry, I’d have been quicker sending a carrier pigeon. My sources have since informed me Tipperary won by 4 points behind closed doors, both team close to a full compliment. What say yours?

If true, we’ll timber these Dublin cunts on Saturday.

Heard sweet fanny all, boss.

@carryharry and any other motorheads. It seems like we will need a new motor in the near future. Please consider the parameters below and select a new car for me
-Must be safe for young kids (although they won’t be driving it) so a solid car.
-Must never ever break down
-Will be required for regularish longish journeys
-I like toyotas (I think my mechanic may be an undercover Toyota)
-Anything else you reckon for a fella like meself.

Thanks, fella.

Car, Saloon or Estate. Or a dreaded people carrier?

You’re the car man, you tell me.

Ah here. You live with your family, not me.

Sorry man. Please do with this what you can.
I’ve two kids*. There are no more plans for kids but never say never. I honestly have no idea of the merits of any of the saloon/people carrier/estate thing other than it’s got a big boot/loads of seats to lose shit under.
Probably not a people carrier because I imagine they’re not great on one person trips around the country in terms of economy.
Something that won’t break often as I hate most things to do with cars or changing them.

*She thinks she’s a princess and he likes to eat things, mostly dangerous stuff, if that helps.

You like Toyota’s so an Avensis is an obvious choice. IMO, still a good car but not as reliable as older Toyota builds. The major plus of the Avensis is resale value. For me the Avensis is a strong 8/10.

A strong option is the Skoda Octavia Saloon.
Well spec’d, value for money in comparison to the expensive VW Passat. 1.6tdi & 2.0tdi options both good drives. 8/10

Final option, Honda Accord Saloon.
Of the 3 mentioned this will be the most expensive purchase, but they are bullet proof reliability wise. Extremely powerful engines with powerful performance to boot. Loads of space, safety features galore and top class resale value. IMO, worth the extra spend. 9/10

That’s the sort of top notch service we’ve come to expect Harry

Only black mark is not choosing a picture of silver avensis, it’s not like they’re not common as fucking muck.

All 3 smashing cars in their field, at a push, the accord for me too.

Hpnda’s are great cars.

worst value car I have ever seen for sale in Ireland.

When did @Little_Lord_Fauntleroy move to Cork?

@carryharry what’s your professional view on this emissions testing rigging being done by Volkswagen on the diesel cars? Legitimate business practice?

Spoken like an international businessman. You sound worried. VAG have factories in Poland iirc. Hmm. Ill come and visit you in The Hague.

@carryharry is knee deep in shit in a field in Laois but there is money in muck and he’s wearing a smile as big as his filthy order book.

I’d hate it if they took my Audi off me.

Was it all VW Group cars or just the Volkswagen models specifically?
