Yet another serious stabbing incident in Cork, this one at 5pm of a Monday afternoon.
Man critical in hospital after Cork stabbing
Tuesday, May 29, 2012 - 07:01 AM
A man is in a critical condition in hospital following a stabbing in Cork.
The 30-year-old was stabbed during a row in Hollyhill on the northside of the city at around 5pm yesterday evening.
No arrests have been made.
The incident happened in a laneway at Hollyhill and it is understood the man - who was a single man from the nearby Knocknaheeny - was stabbed in the neck during a row.
Gardaí were called to the scene and the man was rushed to Cork University Hospital for emergency surgery, and is in a critical condition.
The scene has been sealed off and Gardaí have begun house to house inquiries in the area.
They are appealing for witnesses to contact them at Gurranabraher Garda Station.
Seems to be a terribly sad case with that 8 year old found dead in North Cork.
The Gardai have said he didn’t die of natural causes, and from the statement by the HSE it would appear they had been involved with the family recently. That dreaded phrase “tragic circumstances” has been used in the news reports.
Myself and Mac are talking about it in the ‘Tonights TV’ thread if you want to join us there for more speculation.

The city that Dublin wishes it could be.
What have you got against Youghal Mac?I’s Corks oldest town and it’s a very pleasant entry point into Irelands greatest county:pint: .

Lets all just agree that both Cork and Limerick are shitholes of the highest order and leave it at that.
Any posters here that are from either place can then get on with their drug addled, violence, std ridden lives and spare the rest of us with their manky, shaky, innocent killing, wannabe hard acts that disguise the fact they’re all creamers lives.
simples[/quote]
No Cork is nicer than Limerick and anywhere else for that matter.

Cork is a shithole but you think a shithole is a pleasant entry point. Ergo youre a funboy
Knocknaheeny is also the nicest rough area in ireland.
Now while i do Cork is the greatest place in the world i can accept people complaints about the place.Like it does have a bit of a hard drugs problem since the Limerick gangsters set up shop here! But i will accept peoples negative comments because we Cork people are not so insecure and crippled with a sense of inferiority that we feel the need to be praised constantly. We know were great we don’t need losers from other parts of Ireland to tell us that! You can’t say boo about Limerick without the locals getting the hump.Apparently it’s all the medias fault! The reaction to that poster about that irish examiner article about crime in ireland was a case in point!
You seem to be infatuated with other posters and their sexual habits. Are you some form of deviant?
Waterford isn’t Ireland’s greatest county
They have a savage inferiority complex with dominates their mindsets down there, they try to dress it up and masquerade it as confidence, buts its all a sham. Shannonsider was right about the tans, they had the right idea, and as the puke pointed out, its a cheap version of Limerick
Cork City won the eircom league in 2005 and an FAI Cup in 2007.Corks hurlers won all irelands in 2004 and 2005 and our footballers won an all ireland in 2010.We also have a great record for GAA acheivement in both codes like the double and the 121 and counting all irelands. We also put manners on Bayern Munich!
