Do we just name anyone who dies in here?

Is this the new obituaries?
No. Bridie houlihan from labasheeda doesn’t make the grade.
Former leaders of political parties have a good chance of being famous enough.

celebrities.

I know your concept of celebrity is restricted to inbred local lads who drag hurls behind them but this fella was ‘celebrated’ for both his opposition to the Iraq war and his alcoholism.

His fairly solitary opposition to the Iraq war was commendable anyway.

 • Opposed Iraq war when all other leading political figures in UK supported it (with exception of Livingston and Cook).
 • Led the party to 62 seats in 05. Their highest tally seats and votes wise for 80 odd years
 • Only Lib Dem MP who voted against coalition with Tories.
 • Driving force in favour of merger between SDP and Liberals

More than commendable. The atmosphere was febrile at the time. It was extremely courageous. He seemed a really decent person. It’s a shame.

Heard some of this speech there on Radio 4 at 6 o clock. Good speech in fairness.

i am SO SO SO SORRY

Very sad to hear of Charles Kennedy’s death. As Rocko outlined he was a decent man.

Helmut Kohl is on his way out. Stay tuned.
