Anyone else think they meant this fella when they read it first?
Not a sport.
Not a celebrity.
Bizarre, ill informed and incorrect comment.
Geoff has slain the plebs here. Meads is/was a fucking legend. Well fought @GeoffreyBoycott.
Suck it up…
Jog on, Boxty.
Never heard of him but Ar Dheis De go raibh a hanam dilis.
For someone who watches and talks about rugby as much as you do, I find that hard to believe.
Who did he play for?
Condolences and sympathies to his next of kin.
It was nice that Meads at least died without carrying the dishonour that he’d carried for 50 years of being the last New Zealand player to be sent off in an international (well done Sonny Bill). But unfortunately he has now been shown the ultimate red card.
Cyril Brownlie died before Sir Colin took that particular dishonour off him. Sir Colin also shed the dishonour recently of the only New Zealand captain to preside over a failure to win a test series against the British Lions.
Boxty sticking up for his age group.
Jog on, Boxty.
Fuck off Choco. Meads was a legend. Would you tell Mrs. Sullivan to jog on.
Comedian Jerry Lewis has died aged 91
I’m sure we’ll have no dispute about his celebrity status.
The most iconic rugby player ever isn’t a celebrity

You can fuck off as well. I’ve seen Meads in the flesh so to speak - in Murrayfield - when I was on the North Sea Gas pipeline
Wicked money back in the day.
I’m sure we’ll have no dispute about his celebrity status.

Jonah Lomu is dead a while pal.
A show pony from the attention deficit modern age
You’re old enough to know better, having spent time in NZ I know well the genuine iconic status of the older man,
Meads was a stone cold legend of a sport popular in this country, worthy of this thread certainly when you consider some of the ‘cult’ actors that have made the cut.

To be fair I have heard of him. But I wouldn’t know him from a hole in the ditch.
