Incorrect. He had 3. Rita Hayworth, Marilyn Monroe and Raquel Welch. Obviously Rita was included in the original short story name, Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption.

Fitting that a Lothario of your vintage should bring this sad revelation to the forum.

A young man by the standards of the day. An icon. God rest him.

Probably wont need that NFT now.

3-5pm spent watching Ceefax p303 and then Motty at 10.30pm with the main action on MOTD.

Such a distinctive voice that instantly transports me back to that time.

RIP Motty and RIP to another part of my childhood. 77 is no age.

There are no words really. Just an icon.

The sheepskin jacket.

A memory that comes to mind for some reason is Motty screaming ā€˜TREZEGUET!!ā€™ when he scored the golden goal in the Euro final in 2000.

He also implored Mark Lawrenson on co commentary to ā€˜say something Mark!!ā€™ as England were meekly bowing out of the Euro qualifying against Croatia in Wembley in 2007.

Thatā€™s very insulting. He wasnā€™t a celebrity like some b list actor running around a red carpet.

John Motson was a very significant person for a long period of time.
