Theyâll be making sure you stay amused
Theyâll fill you up with drugs and booze
Maybe youâll make the evening news
And when youâre tripping over your dreams
Theyâll keep you down by any means
And by the end of the night youâll be stifling your screams
Since you became a VIPerson
Itâs like your problems have all worsened
Your paranoia casts aspersions on the truths you know
And theyâll just put you in the spotlight
And hope that youâll do alright
Or maybe not
Iâve a ferocious dislike of all forms of motor sports and every time I hear about a Joey Dunlop, an Ayrton Senna and now sadly this lad, I always wonder what the families left behind think.
We often hear âhe died doing what he lovedâ and associated sentiments but I wonder do grieving mothers, wives, siblings, children ever feel anger at the sport. I think I would.
Motorcycle road racingâs days seem to be numbered anyway.
I think in one way this is very sad as there is something about that tradition I greatly admire. It was one of the few genuine cross community activities in the North where nobody gave a fuck which religion you were. Yet itâs obviously complete lunacy.
The Isle of Man TT is lethal. Over 250 people have died over the years. Death toll may have reached double figures in one particular running. Shocking and totally pointless waste of life.
