Celtic Moscow 2nd Leg

Hard to believe there hasn’t been a thread about this. Even harder to believe RT2 are showing Arsenal live and then showing delayed coverage of Celtic’s match. I sent them a stinking email about it. complaints@rte.ie if anyone is interested.

Very poor decision from RT. The Arsenal match is dead and buried and the Celtic game promises to be a cracker.

I presume you can get it through BBC Scotland in your gaff can you?

Yeah I can. Even if Arsenal game was still all to play for I would have been surprised had they gone this way. There is no way the Arsenal match ẃill attract the same figures as the Celtic match.

I would watch Arsenal but I wouldnt watch Celtic. Arsenal 1 Celtic 0

you watch fc biggles raf bohemains though

Idiotic. Hoopy fook.

Arsenal 2 Celtic 0

Only injury concern seems to be Miller who has been ruled out - not sure what the story with Kennedy is but Caldwell looks solid enough there anyway. So then it comes down to Hartley v McGeady again, assuming the other places are as they were for the first leg:

Wilson__Caldwell___McManus__Naylor

McGeady__Brown__Donati__Nakamura

McDonald_Vennegoor of Hesselink

Hows McGeady been playing for Celtic? He played his best game from Ireland recently.

He’s been playing well in general. Last week against Aberdeen he wasn’t brilliant but he improved as the game went on and got an assist. In the game just gone he was quiet in the first half again but played some nice stuff in the second half from a more central area and was involved in 2 of the goals.

Big thing for him is consistency because he has loads of talent - but he’s looking better with every year.

Yeah the impression I got from him in the Ireland game compared to past games was that when he was on the ball he looked more comfortable and like he would actually use it productivly. In the past looking at him I was never confident of him doing that

He is much stronger this year than last year which obviously helps his composure on the ball because he’s less likely to get shoved off it now.

strength or lack of is mcgeadys big failing- he looked good versus Hearts and hopefully is a bit stronger- i assume he is trying to bulk up so we should see an improvement- with naylor looking shaky & celtic not needing a goal the more solid hartley might be a better option for this game

I think we’re playing well enough to beat them tomorrow night even though a no score draw would do us. Given the excellent displays up in Aberdeen and at home to Hearts last Saturday I don’t see any reason to change the starting XI.

That is an astonishing decision by RTE - Arsenal are 2-0 up going into the home leg against a diddy team from the Czech Republic while Celtic’s game is delicately poised and it’s against a very good side.

I don’t see why you all have a problem with the Arsenal game being shown over the Celtic game. Arsenal play in a proper league.

Anyone with more widespread Internet access than me want to confirm whether the Huns v Red Star game is on Setanta tonight?

Has the makings of a decent match if Red Star can defend well. If the huns score then it’s hard to see them losing but it could be very tight.

It’s on the Beeb almost positive.

Not even that though Bandage but over last few years Celtic have always gotten far higher ratings than Arsenal for European games. In fact Celtic’s European games for figures on RT dwarf all other clubs with the exception of Manchester United. I remember looking at the viewing figures in the Irish Times one day with rock and Celtic and Ireland were top rated soccer matches.

I can’t get BBC Scotland though - is it not on Setanta as well because Setanta seemed to have all the other away legs?

Sorry rock I got mixed up between the two legs. It’s on Setanta Sports1 and not on the Beeb.

Referee announced for tomorrow: Roberto Rosetti of Italy. Don’t know anything about him.
