Celtic Transfer Windows - Now 2025

It’s not a reliable source but it’s about the primary source as you say.

So the primary source is a daily paper based in Rennes & they have the Jota angle too.

We might belatedly get what we all wanted in 2023.

Rodgers pronouncing Jota in media interviews.

I’ll guess a hard Joe-ta.

But I wouldn’t rule out Yota.

Jota, Tierney and Kvistgaarden would be a real coup.

This is always the best part of the window, before we end up with some last minute unknown loan.
We dare to dream Liewell

The 6 million from last night should be spent straight away

Along with the other millions disappeared in the Summer after the transfer profit which we returned. A bit of ambition to give the knockouts a bash would be more than fair

this is a strange one tbh

he is a bit lightweight but is a brilliant goalscorer & his record vs the Huns is brilliant

whats the rationale for replacing one of our best players mid season?

I think he has wanted to go for a while. There have been rumours since the summer.

The only way he should be going is if Jota (Yota according to BR) is coming the other way.

Is it 3 additions to the CL squad we are allowed for knockouts?

As @Rocko says, he’s reportedly wanted to leave for a while. He changed agents around the time he signed the new deal in summer 2023 but not making the WC squad in winter 2022 apparently stung & he wants to play in a higher profile league after giving Celtic 3.5 seasons.

Separate to that, I always got the impression Rodgers wasn’t fully taken with him despite his qualities & goals for Celtic - see post above. Rodgers seems to prefer a different profile of striker - a more rounded player with strength & other attributes like Moussa DembĆ©lĆ©. Kvistgarten (spelling?) might be more along those lines.

As long as Joe-tay hops on the return flight to Glasgow.

Did he not switch agent in July/August around the time of all the Man City talk? Torn on this one. Has been a star but is on the wane and doesn’t suit BR style. That said it’s a big risk pinning your hopes on Maeda and Idah as your strikers. Would be delighted to see Jota back though…

The FFP rules these days seem to make separate transfers more advantageous so hopefully we are just more reticent in discussing any of the Jota part.

I still don’t really believe in Jota coming back though. It’s been a false rumour too many times.

Yeah three changes allowed.

Yeah I think another striker is definitely needed if he does go. Jota would be brilliant but a Kvistgaarden or someone also would really strengthen us in attacking areas.

Bhoys, you hardly think Celtic would sell their main striker mid-season without having his replacement lined up…right? :grimacing:

Don’t read too much into this perhaps but I’ve just been for sushi in Glasgow and spoke briefly to the Japanese owner , my Japanese is basic but when I asked him about kyogo he seemed to use the past tense or at least a past participial when describing him as a great and loyal customer
