Low risk, seems a good character and the carrot of another 12 month contract should encourage a few good performances. However signing free agents after the window in two consecutive transfer windows doesn’t scream that the club has a coherent transfer policy or department.

Wright was 36 and finished when he joined Celtic. Oxlaide Chamberlain might not make much of an impact but he’s the same age as Callum McGregor. Could be a nothing signing but as others have said I think it’s low risk.
(Keane played quite well for Celtic in his spell).

Both wright and Keane were major disappointments whatever way you look at it.
I’m not saying the ox will be, not at all. I really hope he isn’t, but the narrative is similar.
Well the way I look at it Keane wasn’t a “major disappointment.” We won the league comfortably because the Huns were poor and Hearts fell away. He played his part and did well in general. Maybe a bit meh but it was far from an unarguable disaster.

I think Keane’s heart definitely was in it too. He had a big time point to prove post Ferguson fall out but in the end his body failed him and probably proved Ferguson right in a way.
I didn’t say it was an unarguable disaster, just a major disappointment. He was a shadow of his relatively recent self.
Keane himself his body was completely gone at that stage and regretted not Retiring.
I’m fairly sure there a legal issue which meant he couldn’t train with another team while his compensation was being sorted at United. He said he’d lost match fitness and had missed pre season at United as well. He was talking about it recently in an interview. Had great time for the club and seemed regretful he tried to play on. Just should have retired.
He was superb when we played the huns at Castle Grayskull and won 1.0
