There seems to be a recurring theme around BR of a drabness setting in after a couple of years.
Some Celtic supporters reckon Lennon thinks heās in with a chance of reappointment. That this is even a thing says it all.
We need a couple of half unhinged Italian nut jobs in the team.

Heās not above question for tactics but I donāt think he should be responsible for the money paid for players.
Even on Idah the net loss is small and probably consistent with one yearās loan fee anyway.
But I think Celtic and the Celtic fans havenāt realised that the market has moved. When the likes of Oh is worth 20m+ then prices have increased across the board. When we want to sell our top performers for 25m then our young first team regulars should be worth 10m+.
Not every purchase can double in value or even increase in value. Sometimes you just get a player who is worth about what you paid and contributes a little more or a little less.

Agree absolutely, but the football seems fairly drab, and I donāt think theyāve identified or bought wisely. They lucked out with the head start on the J league and Ange. I donāt honestly think they have done kind of divine right to compete at champions league level, but when they are more than breaking even, they shouldnāt sell key players without key replacements.
I donāt blame them taking 7 m for idah. Iād have bitten the hand off anyone for it. Oh at 20m stretches credulity to breaking point.
There are a few players in Scotland would be worth a punt.
Celticās Europa League squad has been published.
They only have 7 home grown or association trained players, with 8 needed. So they forego a spot & could only name 24 rather than 25.
Rodgers hasnāt included Simpson-Pusey, Inamura, Osmond or Yamada out of the summer signings.
Iheanacho, Tounekti & Balikwisha are in along with Yang.
Itās pretty clear that Rodgers didnāt really want the two Japanese bhoys & these are club signings. A bit harsh on Yamada maybe whoās looked okay.
The Simpson-Pusey situation seems weird. Heās been bombed out before heās played. There was a rumour he was asked to play with the B team to build up his fitness & refused, & he hasnāt been in a squad since. Dunno if thereās any truth in it.
The football has been dire. I think a lack of recruitment and fresh players has been a factor. But the lack of risk taking on the ball is a separate problem that needs to be addressed by Rodgers immediately.
Thatās an entirely separate problem to the failures in recruitment though. Itās hard to know the splits between complacency and incompetence and arrogance and ignorance and various other factors. We were mentioned earlier in the window as having contacted Grealish about a loan move. Who do the recruitment guys think they are that they have ambitions to attract star names but canāt figure out how to get simple deals over the line.

Not picking Yamada seems very strange. Played ok at the weekend. Then doesnāt make our squad.
Simpson Pusey should be sent back. Pointless.

I donāt get that logic. Not every deal can be a profit. If Celtic get a player for a period and donāt lose money on him then itās not a disaster.
They lost a little on the Idah deal but he wasnāt outrageously expensive and wasnāt outrageously bad. He was just meh.
