We are taking some 18 year old striker on loan from Chelsea now.
All the money we have and running around on deadline week trying to ask clubs if we can borrow players they donāt want or they want us to develop.
I find nothing more sickening that our willingness to be a development farm for other teams. We are far too big a club for that. We should signing players not loaning. Things go to a new low with every passing hour.
Government sportswashing to take the peoples minds off how shit a state the country is in at present is the considered opinion of my turkish bro⦠pumping cash into clubs
Might explain the loan from Chelsea if both Hogh and Osmand are going to be out for a decent while.
2 completed medicals and 2 more currently undergoing. 1 permanent, 3 loans. Still need a LB so that could be Emenalo which would be our 4th loan. Bid rejected for Gineitis apparently and weāve also apparently made a loan bid for Devenny but Palace want a permanent sale.
The chief scout fella that joined last January from Chelsea obviously has knowledge of their youth prospects with this striker & the left back, & maybe the contacts to persuade them to use Celtic āto develop their assetsā. Iām not sure whatās happening with the left back now. It was reported as a done deal subject to being confirmed once a minor injury resolved itself, but Iām starting to think heās keeping Celtic on the long finger & assessing other options. Obviously not ideal with Tierney now injured & already struggling to complete full games.
Just to be clear here, am I correct in saying the Scottish transfer dealdine is Thursday night but the Europa registration deadline is tomorrow evening?
Europe deadline tomorrow night at 11pm afaik & Scottish deadline Thursday 5pm so we should be working towards tomorrow night. Well we should have had the deals done ages ago & before the CL qualifier but you know what I mean. The deadline in England is tonight so thereās a chance some cast offs will be getting touted around tomorrow too.
The Chelsea lad on loan looking even more bizarre now. Hogh and Tierney could be back by weekend but Osmand will be out for a few weeks. Kenny must be on the way out but time is ticking on that one as he will likely be off to England. Even then I donāt see us really needing 4 strikers.
Still no update on Hatate. West Ham were being linked to him but again the clock is ticking in England and no solid reports yet.
Interesting. Certainly leaves the midfield looking healthy but I think heās more a box to box midfielder. He has size and looks fairly mobile though so should help us against being bullied and overran.
Johnny Kenny in Preston to sign for them. £3mn initial fee mentioned, with some add ons/incentives.
Maloney did the press today to preview tomorrowās game. Heās hopeful Tierney & Hogh will be available for the weekend. Osmand will be longer but not as serious as they thought initially - he said they think heāll be back in training before the first international break (20 Sep).
So I think this Chelsea loanee striker is a replacement for Kenny & heāll be battling it out with Osmand as 3rd/4th choice striker.
Van den Berg & Johnstone will likely be confirmed later today.
Left back & hopefully Gineitis to follow tomorrow.
Maloney said theyāre not in the market for another centre back. Said they rate Dane Murray very highly & if he can force himself in then he could be the long term solution for that position. Iām dubious enough now.
The thing about Murray is he missed 2-3 years of football. He can look good at times and then a wreck at other. Being 4th choice centre is doing him no good.
He should have been out on loan last season and he should be out on loan this season. He needs regular football to develop. Apparently Welsh is doing really well at Swansea after his loan spell at Motherwell. Look how well Scales came on after Aberdeen. At this stage of your career you canāt be sitting on the bench when you have as little experience as Murray has.
The homegrown quota thing is becoming an ever bigger issue for us. The likes of Forrest, Ralston, Murray, Doohan and McCowan would be out the door only for it. We need to start targeting a better standard of Scottish talent like Mulligan or Graham and do a much better job hanging on to our best youth players.
Iām going to put my head on the line and say Gineitis wonāt happen. Heād be our biggest outlay in terms of money on a midfielder and at this rate it doesnāt look like it would be completed in time. Iād imagine there area all sorts to conclude in terms of filing papers, signing contracts, completing medicals getting flights and all the rest before he could be registered by 11pm tomorrow.
The fact he is lining out for Torino tonight is telling in itself but we will see.
Looks like LB will finally be Emenalo according to the latest reports.
Surely signing 5, 6 or 7 players in the last 36 hours of the transfer window should be a strong hint to the board that their strategy is dysfunctional.
