Celtic v Dundee United

Or players who are dominant in their league don’t need complicated systems that are designed to cause chaos and therefore suit weaker teams.

You get to the same place. Watch the goals celtic gave away only last week against Rangers . That wasn’t due to a complicated system.Trusty was left to make a judgement call whether to go out and close down attackers angle or hold the centre. It’s was abysmal

Tougher tests to come, but Araujo looks an asset going forward at the very least

Yep, he’s fine once being babysat. I wouldn’t trust him to put the heating on though unattended

That’s why O’Neill suits them . He’s a manager from a bygone era .keep it tight and compact and play for the break which will invariably come against weaker opposition.everyone knows their role .

When a complicated system isn’t working the team playing it tends to concede goals that look utterly simple and/or down to individual mistakes.

Complicated, poorly thought out systems fail because individuals don’t understand what they’re supposed to be doing.

When these individuals understand what thery’re supposed to be doing in a system they suddenly look much better players.

Obviously much better & more organised display. Several good individual displays too. Thought Scales was very strong, Araujo didn’t stand out per se but looked bright & energetic, Engels was very prominent & Tounekti was also decent. Maeda had three fresh air swipes at brilliant chances while looking sullen. Then he scored, was taken off & continued to look sullen. He’s missed a power of easy chances since late last season. Yang was stadium MoTM & I’m rooting for him…I like a romantic NARRATIVE where a player overcomes adversity & fan doubts to become a main man. I’m not saying he’s that yet, or even close to it, but he’s on a positive trajectory. I eagerly await news of the xG result.

Are Glasgow Celtic back?

First clean sheet since MON left :grinning: :ronnyroar:

Why didn’t the fuckers play like that for the previous manager

Great result and some big announcements next week I believe.

The season starts now.

I’ll direct you to the behind the scenes expose in the Next Celtic Manager thread.

A trip to Brockville to face resurgent Falkirk midweek. The Bairns consolidate their place in the Super Top Six with an impressive 0-2 away win in Paisley against the recently crowned Skol Cup winners.

Any hints who that might be?
