It’s hard to say because he’s playing in a midfield that gets overrun a bit most weeks. So he looks decent in terms of ability but he’s not dominating a game and he certainly doesn’t have the positional discipline that Trap seems to want in his players.
Obviously he’s young and will improve and isn’t playing to Trap’s instructions for his club so there’s no reason he couldn’t play a more limited role. I like the way he plays - he drives forward with the ball alot and he gets stuck in. Probably not ahead of the likes of Garvan at the moment though.
Smashing run and cross from Hinkel who put it on a plate for him. Good work before from either Brown or McCourt. Arabic commentator dude said it was Patrick McCourt but looked more like Brown.
Young Graham Carey (who I think is on loan from Celtic) played very well for the Big Club last night against Cork, he only got 20 mins but beat his man several times, drew a few free kicks and a booking (although also managed to get booked himself), and swung in several decent crosses and it wasn’t his fault no-one was on the end of them. He could start for us against Galway on Tuesday, as Killian Brennan wasn’t at the races.
[quote=“Sledgehammer”]How did McCourt play in the 20 mins he got?

Didn’t do badly actually.
Had one nice little run and shot - poor enough shot but it was a reasonable effort from having picked the ball up on the wing from a throw in.
Beat his man a couple of times, lost it a couple of times. Looked fit.
Didn’t know Carey was with Bohs. Seen him play on Celtic TV for the youths a few teams. Generally only highlights but he’s prominent enough usually.
