That would have been a lovely flowing goal
McGregor has been excellent.
Celtic seem incapable of playing out of the huns’ press. Cheaply giving it away repeatedly. A few chances since they scored nonetheless, but a poor response in general.
Ajeti, Griffiths and Rogic for Klimala, Elyonoussi and Ntcham.
Celtic aren’t getting much passing going
No shot on target yet for Celtic. Sevco look marginally the better side.
Hmmmm.
Goal was poor. Duffy cheating a bit by taking that step. Think Barkas could have done better too but it’s not as clear cut as Walker is making out. It came fairly quick and it was a late touch.
Strange sort of game. Elyounoussi missed a great chance to equalise. They’ve probably been a little better but there’s not much in it. McGregor is having a fine game. Ntcham and Frimpong need to do better on their side but Ntcham improved a bit towards the end.
Klimala’s general play isn’t great. He’s given it away a few times. Not all about his touch because it’s just been playing the wrong pass a couple of times but he’s not really suited to building up the play. I would be taking him off before Elyounoussi who missed his chance but he is causing them more problems I think.
That’s been a pathetic half by Celtic. The team is strung out, leaving loads of gaps between the lines, with a lack of structure and cohesion in and out of possession. The huns are getting into their defensive shape and then launching a coordinated press and Celtic are giving up the ball time after time. McGregor is really the only one showing some composure and quality on the ball. No efforts on target.
And Welsh has done well enough defending but he’s obviously just concentrating on the basics and he hasn’t really helped our passing from the back. He’s been a bit too conservative and just rolling it slowly behind Frimpong instead of feeding the ball to him on the turn. Heading it to touch every time too even when there’s little pressure. Not easy as it’s a step up for him but we have the personnel to switch to a 4 if we need to.
This is now a battle for Ireland’s future.
Could they please show some fucking fight and pride?
If there’s not at least a double sub at half time then I don’t know what to think.
I’m advocating a formation switch with 4 at the back, Elyounoussi and Ntcham to the wings and possibly Rogic on for Welsh. Ntcham far from an ideal winger but I don’t really have a better idea. Something like:
Barkas
Frimpong Duffy Ajer Laxalt
Brown McGregor
Ntcham Rogic Elyounoussi
Klimala
It doesn’t look that great now that I’ve written it down but I think we need to do change the pattern and get Rogic causing them problems. Kamara is having it too easy at the moment drifting out to Frimpong.
Lennon needed to be given the road and Robbie Keane brought in before he puts pen to paper with LA Galaxy. Get Big Mick and TC in with him
Farcical stuff. 0-2.
Signing out, Lennon out.
Kamara is class
How kamara hasn’t been picked up by a bigger club surprises me.
Lennon out. McCarthy In
This is hardly that much of a surprise.
It’s the consequences of having a guy out of his depth calling the shots.
Who was the last Celtic manager to lose back to back home league games against the huns?
The IFSC pira lads have gone fairly quiet.
