Celtic v Sevco&Bobby Madden

Gia is top drawer I think. He leads the line and occupies the centrebacks which gives more room outside. Doesn’t take a backwards step either.

First real slap in the face Rangers have gotten in almost 2 seasons. Big pressure on them now at the weekend.

Celtic need to concentrate on their own job though. Make the most of the win by beating Motherwell? away next.

Ah that was magnificent.

Stadium was bouncing. Scintillating first half but looked like we might have a nervous evening at 1-0 and then we pounced from their attack and made it 3-0.

Hatate is a glorious footballer. Abada has had a ridiculously productive season so far out of nowhere. And then to have Kyogo and Rogic to come back and that midfield three are all short fitness at the moment so think we’ll be better at sustaining performances when that comes.

Not sure where the huge gap came for them at 1-0 for their best chance but otherwise I thought we defended very well. CCV is fantastic but thought Starfelt had a very good game beside him and Taylor was more than adequate. Juranovic was brilliant though. Great touches and his recovery pace is terrific.

He was. Went to Liverpool’s academy after that. Then his dad signed him for Newcastle

Something like that. An old fashioned, phone off to avoid updates and watch “as live” with an hour and a bit delay.

As fine a first half of frenzied attacking fenian football as we’ve delivered under Ange. Some of the interplay was outstanding, particularly down the right between Juranovic, Abada and O’Riley drifting over too. O’Riley looks a superb player and Juranovic was 10/10.

Fantastic stuff from Hatate with two goals and the assist for Abada too. As Ange said afterwards, there’s more to come from him too. I get what he meant - that output is unreal and his quality is clear but he’s still finding his fitness and he’s producing unbelievable moments. He’ll be frighteningly good in time when he’s fully fit, adds consistency and can last the full game.

We could have had 5 or 6 by half time. I thought McGregor was lucky with a couple of saves tbh, especially the one where Giakoumakis got across the defender from O’Riley’s ball in and kinda turned a volley around the corner. McGregor almost sat on it, it pretty much just got caught under his hole. Giakoumakis also had the header and the other one McGregor tipped over from a cut back. Giakoumakis was unfortunate not to get his goal but led the line well.

I thought Jota was quiet by his own high standards tonight, despite the praise from McCoist. As I say, we absolutely destroyed them down the other side. Second half drop off wasn’t unexpected given the game context and pace we’d played at. Would have liked to see us control possession and tempo a bit more but it was very comfortable in truth. Another solid outing for Hart and the back four too.

The atmosphere looked electric. A few of their players completely shat themselves. The light show delivered in spades - putting the stadium into darkness pre game except for the green light on the Celtic huddle is a great look. To think we actually wanted players signed instead of the fancy lights at the time.

Struck me that his wasn’t the usual footballer interview. No guarded comments or clichés, he seemed genuinely blown away by the occasion. His ability to pick out a key pass in tight spaces is unreal.

Just look at that huddle.:heart_eyes::heart_eyes:

O’Riley must be the best looking player ever to play for Celtic. His cheekbones are absolutely unreal.

The ballbhoys have really come into their own under Ange too. Think I mentioned it earlier this season during a European game or maybe that narrow home win against Hearts in the league. Developing a nice edge. Being incredibly petty. Pretending to get the ball & then not when opposition are chasing the game. Tipping the ball away from them. Throwing another ball onto the pitch. Being statues. Goading dirty hun bastards like McGregor. Ange has unified the club from top to bottom.

What a night. The Directors Box was electric. Lord Haughey entertained me royally, as only a Lord should.
