Forrest only missed one week and was back in training on Tuesday so not a huge surprise that he starts. I think Roberts has earned a start in a derby but Rodgers seems to prefer Forrest testing them with pace and then Roberts coming on to pick them apart with passes and dribbles in the last 25 minutes or so. He might also be mindful of Forrest being here for the long haul and Roberts heading back to England in the summer.
I’m a little surprised at the Sviatchenko call too but it’s a tight one. Neither Simunovic or Sviatchenko has been at their best since Christmas.
We are 3 goals off 100 goals this season.
