I’d imagine Lennon will select Hooper due to him wanting to grab the SPL top scorer award and probably want to keep Commons momentum going after an impressive derby display.
Not sure if I want us to keep going with the 3 at the back to get used to it or to revert to a more traditional line-up so we can give McGeouch a game or two. I think I’d side with the latter and therefore have no problems with the team above. Hooper will definitely play though and Commons is more than likely too as you suggest. Can see Brown getting a rest anyway.
If we were to go with the 3 at the back I’d like to see Lustig tried at right centre back, so something like:
Reading this morning that Bangura is expected to start tonight. Had forgotten about his return from injury. He could do with a couple of games to settle into the side and we’ll judge him then. I think he illustrated the problem with signing players at the end of August, as opposed to early July, last year.
Note to supporters: Tonight’s Celtic game clashes with TFK AFC versus WTS FC (Sandymount Park, 8pm kick-off). I think this game is a great opportunity to give our young players and fringe players a game. I imagine he’ll want to give the mainstays a game in the final home match what with us getting the trophy that day and the only other remaining fixture is Dundee United away. So this represents the best chance to pitch the likes of McGeouch into the team from the start.
Yeah I’d agree with that unless he proves himself to be pure shit in the meantime. I’d certainly give him a while to prove his goalscoring credentials as long as he gets involved enough, which I’m not concerned about, and as long as his touch isn’t really dreadful, which I’m slightly concerned about.
His touch and decision making are very alarming alright, hopefully it’s just a case of needing to settle into the side as it was very erratic in the playing time he did get.
Good to see Lennon freshening up the side, disappointed to see Watt isn’t involved however. I think a lot of these players will be eager to impress so I’ve backed Celtic -2 tonight.
