Champions league 2016 - Round of 4 thread

I’d be over and back to Munich a bit and they haven’t been keen on him over there from the very off. Man City will be an interesting test of him. For the first time he’s not inheriting a side and has to build a side which is currently a bit of a mess.

He will likely shake the Manchester City players out of their complacency for a while at least.

But the potential is there for it to go badly wrong. I’m not sure if Guardiola will be prepared for the week to week competitiveness of English football.

No.

Only 5 of the 18 man squad which Atletico had for the final 2 years ago are still at the club.

6 are at the Club, 5 featured tonight.

That’s incredible.

Real Madrid v Juventus 1998.

That was the first season where second placed teams were allowed into the competition and the only time since that happened that two reigning domestic champions played have each other in the final.

@Mac and myself having been banging on about Glorious Griezmann for four years now. Feel particularly vindicated tonight. Best European footballer at the moment.

As an aside is there a team better set up to win a two leg away goals rule tie than Atletico. Lethal up front, clinical at the back and a great keeper.
