Champions League 2019/20 Rounds of 70 ➡ 32

Is the new kit growing on you @Rocko?

What standard will Qarabag, Dundalks next opponents, be?

I like it from a distance. Not in close up.

Fairly dour and hard to break down.

Dundalk will have a chance.

Better but beatable. Celtic struggled past them a couple of years ago.

I really rate Ryan Christie, lovely footballer.

Ludogrets have gone and both BATE and Astana are in bother, they all have fairly decent coefficients so it should help some of the more dangerous teams like PAOK, Slavia Prague and Young Boys be absorbed into the seedings in the latter stages.

@Rocko

When is the deadline for registering new players for round 2?

To be honest I’m not worried about the mugs in the next round, I expect them to a similar standard or worse than Sarajevo who look like a pub outfit.

It’s round 3 that we really need to have a right back in place for.

He’s a lovely player alright. He looks really good tonight.

Tomorrow at midnight. But you can add two more by 24 hours before the first leg. So Monday effectively. And same again for next round.

Lovely. I’m looking forward to doing a state of play for R2 through to R4 at the conclusion of tonight’s draw.

As things stand both BATE and Astana are facing elimination.

Edit: BATE have just equalised in Poland.

Why are Celtic in these early qualifying rounds? Total joke. Flogging players for no reason.

I see it as pre season. Generally as Celtic will be seeded, they will be playing mug teams in the first round and most likely mug teams in the second. At least they should be sharper by the time R3 comes around and things start to get a little more serious.

Would Cluj not be more formidable than Astana anyway?

Scottish league coefficient.
Their sides regularly are beaten by opposition from Gibraltar and Luxembourg

Astana have a higher coefficient so the longer they progress it means that it would push teams like PAOK, Slavia, Young Boys etc into the unseeded teams so it’s for the best they go out. I’d say they are teams more or less on the same level.

BATE have struck late and will now go through. They will play Rosenborg in the next round.

Ah right yeah fair enough. I’d fancy Celtic against either but Romanian teams have been semi regular in the group stages if memory serves so Cluj likely are no mugs

In your our time there lads. .
