Champions League 2021/22 - Another Magic night in Madrid from the Kings of Europe

@Cheasty do a power rankings there of PSG Champions League Capitulations…

2017 against Barca obviously number one, but tonight has to be up near the top

I’d pinpoint it to the exact moment where Raphael Varane fell over and gave away a goal against Manchester City at Maine Road in August 2020. The second one, not the first one.

The capitulation against Man Utd in 2019 after 2-0 win at Old Trafford surely worthy of a mention too.

There won’t be a cow milked in Saudi Arabia tonight.

Would like to see a list of the games Messi has gone out since his last win too. From memory seem to be a succession of scoreless flops

Neymar had a terrible capitulation when he was gaming. Was 9-0 up on aggregate with five minutes left playing as PSG in a quarter-final tie against Sherriff Tiraspol and still lost 10-9.

Scored a screamer last year against PSG

Blaming that tonight on Messi or any of the front 3 is very foolish. Completely dominant until their keeper/defenders threw it away

PSG are great men cycling downhill with the wind at their back.

They were very quick descenders last night. Dropped like a stone, as the old cycling saying goes.

Kylian Mbappe’s goal at the end of the first leg is down there alongside Toni Kroos’s last gasp winner for Germany against Sweden at the 2018 World Cup as a goal that seemed massive at the time but would quickly be consigned to being an irrelevant footnote of history.

He must be wondering what he is doing surrounded by those chumps

It was a beautiful finish, opened up the body for the far side top corner curl, and then smashed in bottom corner near side. I’m still not entirely sure how he did it, a thing of beauty

He isn’t surrounded by chumps though, he’s surrounded by some of the best players in the world and an excellent manager.

The problem is the club itself is a circus. It is empty and clinical and sterile and yet completely toxic. It is run as a lifestyle brand, not a football club.

Conspicuous consumerism, social media influencing and the for profit wellness industry do not win major football titles.

PSG are the Enda McNulty of football clubs. Or they would be if Enda McNulty was a brand ambassador for Nike. And if he was also Tony Robbins except with whiter teeth. And if he was also a YouTube gamer with 10 million subscribers. And if he was Paris Hilton. With more botox and silicone.

Gini Wijnaldum was sitting on his arse last night despite scoring two goals in an away match earlier in the competition and being the exact sort of player they need, because his face isn’t glamourous enough.

Gini needs to get the fuck out of there. Aston Villa would be a good move for him. Aston Villa is a good move for everybody. Always.

Ajax going out in a few minutes if they don’t do something
