Champions League 2022/23 Matchday 3

Erling haaland is 4 goals behind Wayne Rooneys Champions league goals record and he’s only played a quarter of the games.

Haaland 26 goals in 21 games
Rooney 30 goals in 85 games

Non-stop drama between Porto and Leverkusen. Pepe still immensely popular with opponents of all hues

Pepe is life

Napoli are fucking up Ajax.

Spaletti looks depressed.

The Boss is one tough fucker.

Carter-Vickers (still injured but don’t know what the injury is) and Abada (some Jewish feast that means people can’t exercise or work) haven’t travelled to Germany. That means Welsh and Jenz will continue as the centre back partnership, as Starfelt hasn’t returned to fitness yet either. That’s a bit of an eek.

5.45pm kick-off for Celtic later.

ok, back RB to win

Same kick off time for RB Leipzig

Celtic had their chances, fuck it anyway…

Celtic are counting the cost of not producing in the BIG MOMENTS in this campaign so far. Not taking the clear cut chances being created across all the games. 1 goal in 2.5 games isn’t anywhere near enough given the quality of the build up play. A few great chances tonight again but no goal, exacerbated by conceding from a counter attack from our own attacking corner when McGregor overran the ball and ended up injuring himself in a block tackle. He’s off now, replaced by Abildgaard who’s looked rusty enough.

Nkunku has been excellent for them though, we had a warning sign for the offside goal, and he took the goal beautifully. We’ve had more than our fair share of the play but do look very open when we lose the ball. It’s not helped by the centre backs being a quite nervy and you can tell they’re 3rd and 4th choice. They’re not keeping a disciplined line at all and there’s been occasions when we’ve been retreating where one has dropped off and the other rushed up. It’s a recipe for disaster and I’ve visions of them taking advantage to stroll through for a 2 on 1 against Hart.

That said, there’s plenty in the game for Celtic. Just score the next goal please.

Enjoyable game… nkonku the stand out player on show …Celtic look so more dangerous going forward in Europe than previous years … just get punished way more too…abelgaard really has made his presence felt since coming on …Kyogo doesn’t always give the impression of a lad fully tuned in…still something here for Celtic .

Joooooottttttaaaaaaaa

What a pass by Hatate to Kyogo.

Joottttaaaaaaaaaaa!!!

Jjjjoootttttaaaaaaaaa

Abelgaard looks a midfield general …would like to see haksabanovic come on as the game gets stretched
