Champions League 2024/2025

A cathartic Champions League run for Luis Enrique’s managerial career. Nuno Mendes really starting to justify the hype a few years ago. He terrorised Spock’s Ireland in the final few minutes of that qualifier in Faro that time.

Is there any time left that would lock up shop v Barca ? Probably only inter

Emily Martinez will be disappointed to have been beaten at his near post you feel.

Luis Enrique’s face has a lot of warmth and passion in it and he is a very handsome man. He can speak well and with conviction. You can see why players would want to play for him. That’s half the battle in management. His teams always seem to be happy campers. He also knows a thing or two about football, seems like a smart cookie and has gravitas in spades. People don’t have to ask who he is.

Kevin Keegan had all of the above apart from the intellectual bit.

PSG are a joy to watch. They play with incredible pace & verve. Really entertaining to watch their mix of individual flair & fast combination play. Lovely to see an underdog story like them emerge at the highest level. Martinez will be disappointed with the goal conceded there & Rashford has squandered at least three promising situations but PSG have been electric.

Nearly dispossessed inside their own six yard box to scoring at the other end 10 seconds later. Unreal. The other full back has scored now.

Classic French flair.

@BruidheanChaorthainn I don’t think we’re gonna get Nuno Mendes but Marcus might come back. He can play up front now too.

Arsenal v PSG is the final

How is Rashford starting over Watkins?

Sexier

Villa have one back. This is great stuff.

PSG have been quite open all game but Rashford and Rogers have made a balls of the final pass.

Villa would be more tolerable if they didn’t cut to shots of their makey up fan Prince William every five minutes.

I like Villa but they are having what PSG allow them

The pace of the counters, or should I say TRANSITIONS, at this level is spellbinding. Which makes it very important that players don’t cough up the ball cheaply. The Georgian did it for the Villa goal there & Rashford did it before PSG raced downfield for their opening goal. I like that PSG aren’t preoccupied with control, they’ll just play & give up chances & create loads themselves.

The OPENNESS is playing into PSG’s hands, except for just now, when it didn’t

Dortmund on the brink of making this very interesting

Maybe not

This is unreal at Villa Park. 3-2 on the night.
