In way it’s more even depressing because this is so clearly an extremely successful petro-state reputation laundering project which will be seen as deeply likeable and celebratory.
At least nobody actually remembers Abu Dhabi winning because they were so dour and unimpressive and they beat no good teams and nobody took it seriously.
Still, I suppose Brazil 1970 were representing a miltary dictatorship too and their manager was sacked before the tirnament because he was a socialist who opposed the regime, but at least they didn’t need to sign anybody to play for them.
