Champions League - Last 16

Keith Andrews looks like Sean Penn in Milk.

Spot.

This is a sad, drawn out ending to Arsene Wengers frankly wonderful career at Arsenal. I hope he leaves with his dignity intact.

A shocking performance, how can Wenger continue to watch Ramsey? To pick Walcott up front on his own should mean you defend your goal, as opposed to conceding 3 at home. Sagna is pitiful to look at right now while Mertesacker can not play the game ‘‘football’’. Is Podolski a winger or a striker? Some awful players on show for Arsenal compared to the German outfit & Wenger can blame no one for the squad he has assembled. Worrying times at Arsenal.[/quote]
Think you might be reading too much into some things there. Podoski wasn’t the problem. He’s not a striker, never was a striker and never will be a striker.

His squad is poor though and even sending Santos off on loan looks short-sighted given his new left back is cup-tied for Europe. Vermaelen was dire in that position tonight and suggested the problems are collective and not just about his ineptitude, though he has been poor.

Gunners two cb’s are cuntish bad…the back 4 are cuntish in fact…

Arsenal are supposedly a big English club? Where are the real world class players in the 11 listed below?

Arsenal tonight were as follows;
Szczensy : A very average standard keeper but young still. Wenger could afford better.
Sagna : Form has dipped sharply in past 3 years. As poor defending as attacking.
Koscielny : This signing never made sense.
Mertesacker : Does not suits Arsenal’s styles, wholely uncomfortable with ball at feet. Wenger could afford better.
Vermaelen : An average center half who cannot play left back against quality opposition.
Carzola : A good signing who shows promise. Will he stay?
Ramsey : Again, youthful but still needs good players around him.
Wilshere : A club product, a great future player.
Arteta : A panic buy.
Podolski : Big money signing as a goal scorer i presume. Plays poorly on the wing?
Walcott : Years of waste from this guy, he has talent & can be a good finisher when played off a striker. But Wenger persists playing him out wide.

Wenger is living off a legacy at this stage, and its a pity as his poor decisions over team personal over the past 5 years may well tarnish it now.

They are such a soft team realy, whatever happened to having a thinking mans enforcer like Patrick Viera running the show?

Tommy Martin is quite an accomplished presenter. It’s a shame TV3’s coverage is completely ruined by shit commentators and co-commentators, like Lou Macari.

Cazorla and Wilshere are excellent players. Cazorla is 28. He might be new to the EPL but he has over 50 caps for Spain. He has a bit more about him than “shows promise.”

Podolski was not bought as a goalscorer. He doesn’t play as a centre forward. He’s been generally quite effective for them but like nearly everyone else has had some indifferent games, particularly when the rest of the team is collapsing.

The timing of the signing of Arteta was a bit desperate but he wasn’t a bad signing. Walcott is a decent (albeit inconsistent) player too.

Whether they’re a big club or not is irrelevant. Liverpool are supposed to be a big club. Man City became a big club overnight with a change of owners.

I think Wenger has made some poor decisions in the transfer market but not sure they all will.

They tried to put themselves about for a few minutes in the first half and just picked up a few bookings and Bayern played around them. Wanyama would be an excellent signing for them but I think he’ll go to a bigger club.

Still only 5 players in a team of 11 is my point. Wenger has assembled that squad.

I’d love Wanyama at Liverpool… A far bigger club than Arsenal.

I’m not generally disagreeing with you. I said in my first post that his squad is poor.

Willie Collum refereeing in Istanbul tomorrow night, with Craig Thomson in charge in Milan. Fucking crazy.

FFS anything could happen in those games. SFA have made influence at UEFA.

I am going for a draw at the San Siro and Galatasary to beat Schalke

Sneijder and Drogba start for Galatasaray.

Pazzini is leading the Milan attack tonight.

Forza Milan.
