Champions League - Round of 16, Second Leg Ties

bandage- what team would you go for

i wouldnt be surprised if Juan & diamoutene are at centre halfs- a debutant & someone half fit doesnt bode well

Ah for fuck sake, is Mexes out with this fever/virus thing, NCC? I thought it would be Diamoutene partnering Mexes but a half-fit Juan will simply have to play now as they simply can’t pair Loria with Diamoutene.

I was wondering if Menez would play in a 4-3-2-1 but I reckon he’ll go 4-2-3-1 and something like this:

Doni,
Motta, Diamoutene, Juan, Riise,
Aquilani, Brighi,
Taddei, Baptista, Vucinic,
Totti.

Baptista, the greedy, lazy bastard, better pull his finger out and I don’t know what to expect if Aquilani plays as he hasn’t started in ages due to injury. Hopefully, he can replicate his last 16 performance against Real Madrid last season. That formation allows for a bit of fluidity upfront as Baptisa, Vucinic and Totti can all play through the middle. 3-1 Roma.

What do you reckon, yourself?

i rate Aquilani very highly but he always seems to carrying a knock

Was meaning to post about the shit Souness was coming out with last night about the honesty of ‘our’ British players and how teams like Real Madrid are full of foreigners who dont want to know and have a bad attitude. Liverpool had only two English starters last night, Carragher and Gerrard, so their team was full of foreigners. Both sides actually had three Spanish starters (Reina, Arbeloa and Torres versus Casillas, Ramos and Raul) and Liverpool also had a Spanish international in Alonso playing.

Haha…no!

The game I saw - Arsenal were so far superior it was actually a joke. Could have easily have being 4 or 5 if Bendtner had his scoring boots on.

Looking forward to tonight- the Arsenal defence has being excellent of late but the talk has all being about the lack of scoring goals. Gallas is back to his best, Toure has being extremely solid while Clichy not as his best has still being fine. I think Roma will find it hard to break us down.

With Theo and Eduardo back I’d be confident that Arsenal would have more than enough to beat off this Roma side.

Prediction: 2-0 to Arsenal

He got his arse handed to him by Giles and Dunphy in fairness, they were right, and for once Dunphy used sensible and good examples (Barca, Bayern etc).
I think Souness regretted it soon enough, or maybe said something he didn’t really believe.

That stuff doesn’t surprise me, I won’t be watching them tonight anyway, I’ll potter about the house at HT and do something useful to avoid having to listen to them and just end up getting really really annoyed.

What colour are they:D

Christ, as rumoured on Roma News this afternoon, 34-year old left back Max Tonetto plays. That could mean a change of shape and Tonetto slotting in ahead of Riise on the left side or midfield in a 4-4-2, or Riise himself could push one up. Mexes is indeed out so Juan’s back to partner Diamoutene. Pizarro is fit and plays. And so too does The Prince.

Good move by Mourinho to start Balotelli. He may be a cheating cunt but he’s got pace and will offer them a threat in behind.

Ferguson suprises nobody by playing Carrick-Scholes-Giggs as a central 3. I think Rooney and Ronaldo will play either wing to make it 4.5.1 when defending but when attacking it can be a 4.3.3. A bit of a risk Mourinho playing Vieria.

Berbatov injured in the warmup. Tevez may play now. That could be good news for United.

Worth doing an Arsenal/United double @ 4/1?

Throw the house on Arsenal, they’re up against nothing.

Yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeessssssssssssssssssss

Thank god, should make a game of it at least, Arsenal have walked all over these Italian crowds in the past.
