Inter really are a sorry sight. They need to get rid of the old guard - the only two I’d hold onto would be Zanetti and Samuel - possibly Milito. The rest should go along with Marco Branca who has been an unmitigated disaster spearheading inter’s transfer policy. They also need a coach with fresh ideas and a philosophy and they have to back them in the transfer market. I was interested in hearing Gasperini give his thoughts on why things went so awry for him and he pretty much put the blame on Moratti and Branca, saying he told them what he needed yet the went off and did something completely different.
It also solidifies what a wonderful manager Mourinho is, he got Sneijder and Lucio playing out of their skin under his tutelage, both have been embarrassing under a succession of new coaches.

I was obviously watching Stevie G-inspired Liverpool’s magnificent 3-0 victory in the Merseyside derby and tuned into the highlights of the Inter-Marseille game on TV3 not knowing the result. When Milito put Inter 1-0 ahead the score caption came up: “Full Time: Inter 2-1 Marseille 1 (Agg:2-2)”.
So it looks as though it will be the following in the last 8

Napoli*
Real Madrid*
You would hope that Napoli, Bayern, Barca and Real all avoid each other as you would have four quality footballing sides in the semi finals and any two of them 4 meeting in the final should be a quality game as well. AC aren’t a bad side at all but Napoli are much more easy on the eye.
