That was a savage match that one actually. I found it enthralling but thats my opinion and you can’t have it.
Personally I thought the collective defensive effort of Red Star Belgrade and Marseille in the 1991 final was the best defensive display I’ve seen. Wonderful defending throughout. Superb.
I thought Zlatan was excellent last night. My only fault with him, and it’s a minor one, was that he perhaps lacked a bit of desire in getting aggressively into the box. There were a few examples when Dani Alves was marauding down the right and Zlatan moved wide to receive the ball off him, dragging a central defender and defensive midfielder with him, before neatly controlling it and laying it back to Alves. The ball would generally be filtered infield then through Messi, onto Xavi and ultimately out to Pedro on the left. At that stage I would have liked to have seen Zlatan getting into the box and either making himself available at the back post or making a dart from the right all the way diagonally to the front post. However, he preferred to remain over on the right hand side touchline and loiter there. I can’t really argue with him though as his record is so outstanding - I actually can’t remember the last time a team he played with didn’t end the season at the top of their domestic league standings.
It’s a noodle scratcher alright. Much like how there are very few of us that can see this mans greatness.

I was merely pointing out that Barca also had some luck last year in their tie against Chelsea. The volcano ash helped Inter big time but they were good enough to make it count when it mattered aswell.
