Viva Ronaldo
Both sides happy to take the 1-0 here.
And they do.
A fascinating clash in the nightâs main game finishes 1-0 to Atleti Woof.
Ramos offside, correct decision, good shout by the linesman. That would have been tie over.
Outstanding officiating as ever by Rizzoli and his crew.
He would surely have scored there if he didnât fall over?
Ronaldo should have finished it there, fell over himself
He won the tie for Real mate.
He won the game for them mate, the tie isnât over
Juve or Atleti will win this out hopefully that will be the final.
In both years that Real have won the Champions League, they havenât been particularly impressive in a lot of matches including the finals.
Wouldnât be writing them off like Dunphy & Duff.
Canât see itâŚthink the 2 away goals have that tie sealed.
Duff makes a lot of good points.
Duff is a simpleton.
Harsh enough that.
They can score a goal out of nothing. Theyâre huge benefactors of the away goals rule.
Duff is great
Achieved more then Richie 5th Captain Sadlier.
In a different planet to that gimp
I was already going to make this point before Dunphy made it about Bayern Munich, but anyway.
Itâs a really poor reflection on the younger generation of players in world football that the main contenders in this competition are all so reliant on players in their 30th year or over.
Real Madrid are dependent on Ronaldo (32), Ramos (31), Modric (31), Benzema (30 this year), Pepe (34).
Bayern Munich are dependent on Alonso (35), Lahm (33), Robben (33), Ribery (34), Vidal (30 next month).
Barcelona are dependent on Messi (30 in June), Iniesta (33 next month), Suarez (30), Pique (30), Rakitic (29), Mascherano (32).
Juventus are dependent on Buffon (39), Alves (34 next month), Chiellini (33), Bonucci (30 next month), Higuain (30 this year), Marchisio (31), Khedira (30), Lichtseiner (33), Mandzukic (31).
Atletico are dependent on Godin (31), Filipe Luis (31), Juanfran (32), Gabi (34), Torres (33).
There arenât too many real stars under 29 for those teams and even those who are are mostly not too far under that age.
Neymar, Griezmann, Bale, Marcelo, Lewandowski, Dybala and Alaba are the ones that spring to mind.
Weâre always told that itâs now harder for older players to compete but the evidence appears to say the opposite and that the game is more and more dominated by older players.
